Glasgow City scored nine to secure victory against Spartans at Petershill Park.
Tyler Dodds opened the scoring with goals from Julia Molin, Aoife Colvill, Cailin Michie and Jo Love giving City a 5-0 lead at half time.
Second half goals from Colvill, Taylor Fisher and a double from Lauren Davidson secured the points.
It was the perfect start for the home side when within two minutes, the ball was in the back of the Spartans net.
A crossfield ball from the left hand side found Tyler Dodds at the far post and she volleyed the ball back across goal and into the corner of the net.
City made it two a couple of minutes later when Julia Molin outmuscled the Spartans defender in order to get onto the end of a through ball and while her initial shot was saved, the ball had squirmed under the keeper allowing Molin to tap the ball over the line.
Two became three on the 14th minute mark when Dodds beat her marker and cut inside onto her left foot and had a shot on goal. The effort was saved but Aoife Colvill was on hand to tap the loose ball home after Alicia Yates in the Spartans goal couldn’t hold onto the ball.
City were in the mood and Colvill could have had her second but was denied by the crossbar before Molin’s effort from distance was saved by Yates.
It was four on the half hour mark when Cailin Michie, who scored twice on Thursday night, continued her goal scoring streak with a brilliant strike from distance that found the top corner.
Colvill had an effort sneak just wide of the far post and Claire Walsh saw her header cleared off the line as City went in search for a fifth before half time.
City got their fifth just before the break when Jo Love placed the ball past the keeper from the centre of the box.
The hosts started the second half the same when they ended the first with Lauren Davidson being denied by a good save from Yates.
Less than ten minutes into the second half City added to their lead. Davidson’s low ball across goal was fired home by Colvill for her second of the game.
Davidson would go from provider to scorer for City’s seventh of the afternoon when Love played the ball into her path for a first time finish into bottom corner.
Davidson would also be involved in the final two goals as well. Her shot was saved by Yates but tapped home by Taylor Fisher for number eight before she drove in on goal and slotted the ball under the goalkeeper for City’s ninth of the afternoon.
Glasgow City are next in action next Saturday when we make the trip to the capital to face Hearts at the Oriam.
