A first Glasgow City hat-trick for Priscila Chinchilla helped City secure victory at a sun drenched Broadwood Stadium.

Clare Shine opened the scoring before Chinchilla struck twice. Lauren Davidson scored along with Chinchilla’s third to give City a 5-0 lead at half-time.

Second half goals from Mairead Fulton, Aoife Colvill and Megan Foley secured the points.

City got off to the perfect start with less than five minutes on the clock. A short corner routine saw Chinchilla have a strike on goal and Shine was able to glance the ball off her head and into the corner of the net past the Forfar defender on the goal line.

Chinchilla would turn from provider to scorer three minutes later when she curled the ball into the corner past the diving Lauren Perry in the Forfar Farmington goal.

City looked strong in the sun at Broadwood and had chances to make it three with Julia Molin getting to the byline and her cross was deflected off the post by a Forfar defender.

Tyler Toland was next to go close but her effort from distance was deflected over.

City got their third of the afternoon after 21 minutes. Chinchilla again finding the back of the net with her shot from the edge of the box that left Perry stationary.

A fourth came shortly after when Davidson was set free down the right hand side and her shot rebounded off Perry and found the back of the net.

There was a stoppage in play due to an injury and when play resumed, City went close through Shine while Davidson had the ball in the net but the goal was ruled out for handball.

The hosts would get a fifth goal before half-time as Chinchilla completed her hat-trick with a volley from close range.

Ten minutes into the second half and City made it six. A short corner from Leanne Ross found Fulton on the edge of the box and her looping shot found the far corner of the net.

As the hour mark approached, City found the net again as Tyler Toland intercepted a pass from the goalkeeper and passed the ball to Colvill who turned the defender and fired the ball past Perry.

Megan Foley got her first goal of the season as she made it eight after City piled on the pressure with Fulton’s cross finding Foley who side footed the ball past Perry.

The home side continued to look dangerous with Fulton’s effort from distance clipping the top of the net on its way over as Forfar were unable to get further up the pitch while Nicole Robertson hit the crossbar with a header.

City had chances to add to their total with Hayley Lauder firing over the crossbar and Perry denying Toland as City stayed unbeaten in 2021.
