Glasgow City are delighted to announce the signing of Irish international centre-back Claire Walsh.
The 26-year-old joins the from Women’s National League side, Peamount United, on a two year deal.
The defender has been at Peamount United since 2018 and was part of the double winning side of league and cup winners in 2019. She followed that up with a winners’ medal in the 2020 Irish league too. Walsh also featured against Glasgow City in the First Qualifying Round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League last season alongside Niamh Farrelly putting in a fantastic performance in defence and scoring in the penalty shootout. Her performances for Peamount have also seen her in the Irish Women’s National League team of the year in 2017, 2019 and 2020.
Prior to her time at Peamount United, Walsh played for UCD in Ireland and Central Connecticut State University in the United States of America.
Walsh also has three Republic of Ireland caps to her name and was named in the most recent squad.
