Glasgow City came from behind to secure all three points at New Douglas Park.

Kirstie McIntosh gave Hamilton Academical the lead against the run of play when her corner kick went directly in but goals from Jenna Clark and Clare Shine put City in front at half time.

Aoife Colvill got her first goal of the season in the second half to give City a two goal cushion and help secure the victory.

City started well with Aoife Colvill having a couple of efforts on goal in the opening minutes with Chloe Nicolson.

Despite City starting the better, it was the home side that would take the lead. A corner from Kirstie McIntosh went directly into the far corner to give Hamilton the advantage.

City responded well with Colvill heading over while Jo Love had an effort saved.

The visitors got level just after the twentieth minute when a short corner routine allowed Priscila Chinchilla to drive into the penalty area and her cross wasn’t held by the keeper and Jenna Clark tapped home to equalise.

Lauren Davidson almost turned the game on its head a couple of minutes later but her close range volley clipped the crossbar.

City took the lead right on the half hour mark when a lovely ball over the top of the Hamilton defence found Chinchilla who had time to play the ball across the six yard box into the path of Clare Shine to tap home.

Colvill, making her first appearance of the season, got onto the scoresheet at the start of the second half when the ball was rolled along the penalty area and the striker had the composure to delay her shot before finding the space to fire the ball past the keeper.

The away side continued to put the pressure on Hamilton with Chinchilla having a header saved and Fulton seeing her effort from distance caught by the keeper but couldn’t find another.

Next up for City is a first ever meeting against Partick Thistle at Petershill Park on Thursday night with tickets available online via the shop.
