Glasgow City returned to the top of the SWPL table after picking up three points against Heart of Midlothian at Petershill Park.
Goals from Clare Shine and Ode Fulutudilu saw City round of January with a fourth win and clean sheet in four matches.
Chances were few and far between in an evenly contested first half. Priscila Chinchilla carved out the first real opportunity in the 12th minute when she played Clare Shine through on goal but her effort was saved.
When Julia Molin’s cross was spilled by Charlotte Parker-Smith, Kerry Beattie was almost presented with an opportunity but her shot from a tight angle hit the side netting.
On 37 minutes, a Hayley Lauder corner found Jenna Clark but she could only head wide. They were in again three minutes later when Beattie played Lauder through on the counter but she couldn’t find the target.
A double substitution at half time saw Abbi Grant and Megan Foley replace Molin and Lauren Davidson. The impact was almost instant as Grant’s snapshot was saved on 51 minutes.
Moments later and Lauder’s corner this time found Claire Walsh but her header went wide.
The deadlock was broken with 20 minutes to go. Beattie picked up the ball on the right and fed it to Grant in the box who played in Shine on the edge of the box and, despite Parker-Smith getting a hand to it, her effort nestled nicely in the back of the net.
City then doubled their lead when Chinchilla played through Ode Fulutudilu, fresh off the bench on 77 minutes. Her first touch was round the keeper and her second was in the back of the net.
A corner on 84 minutes presented Clark with an opportunity for number three but her effort from 10 yards was saved.
Hearts best chance game with three minutes left when a cross from the right almost fell for Maria McAneny at the near post but her touch was blocked and went wide.
