Glasgow City returned to winning ways with a Glasgow derby win over Celtic at Petershill Park.
Goals from Ode Fulutudilu and Tyler Dodds saw City run out 2-0 winners as they bounced back from defeat at the weekend.
The first opportunity fell the way of the visitors on 10 minutes when Jodie Bartle set up Jacynta on the edge of the box but she couldn’t find the target.
City’s first real chance came three minutes later when Priscila Chinchilla drove past her marker before squaring the ball for Ode Fulutudilu who gave Chloe Logan in the Celtic goal no chance as she put the hosts in front.
It could have been two moments later but Fulutudilu’s effort from a tight angle hit the side netting.
A good move by the away side on 23 minutes saw Clarissa Larisey played in but she couldn’t keep her shot down as it flew high over the bar.
Tenacious work from Fulutudilu then saw City win a corner which broke to Claire Shine on the edge of the box but her goal-bound effort was blocked. That presented Hayley Lauder with the chance to re-deliver the ball and Niamh Farrelly’s header went inches wide.
The last chance of the half fell to Larisey but she again couldn’t keep her shot down.
After the break, Celtic were again first to threaten through Charlie Wellings but Lee Alexander was equal to her effort.
City then started to find their stride and Lauder almost doubled the lead but her curling effort from the edge of the area thundered off the post.
They didn’t have to wait long though as just before the hour, Chinchilla played in Tyler Dodds who twisted and turned before her shot squirmed past Logan and into the net.
Shine then looked to have made it three when her effort from distance hit the bar and it looked to bounce over the line but referee Daniel Graves was unmoved.
On 72 minutes, Celtic then couldn’t clear their lines but Lauder’s snap shot from the D was saved by Logan.
Celtic were forced to play the last few minutes with 10 players when Logan landed awkwardly after clearing the ball away from sub Kerry Beattie. Having made all their subs, Caitlin Hayes ended the match between the sticks.
A perfectly weighted free-kick from Lauder caused chaos in the Celtic back line but neither Abi Grant nor Jenna Clark could get on the end of it as it drifted narrowly wide.
