Glasgow City are delighted to announce the signing of Portugal international Ágata Filipa.

The 26 year old former Sporting Clube de Braga defender won the 2018-19 Campeonato Nacional de Futebol Feminino along with the Portuguese Cup and Super Cup the following season.

The Portugal capped full-back also featured for Braga during their first ever UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign, being a key player as they reached the Last 32.

Filipa is Scott Booth’s first signing of the summer and she has signed a two year deal.

Commenting, Booth said on his first summer signing:

“Agata is a natural talent. She comes from a Club with great pedigree and a strong competition:

“She has a fantastic left foot. Her delivery is absolute quality. A player naturally suited to the whole left side of a team is extremely difficult to find. She is very clever and will only get better and I believe gain more national team caps for Portugal. There is no doubt in my mind that she will be a great asset to our club and I look forward to working with her.”

Ágata Filipa on joining the Scottish Champions:

“I’m very happy to join the best team in Scotland and I’m sure, I’ll be very happy here. I hope I can contribute with my experience and win titles with this great club.”
