Glasgow City can confirm that full-back Anna Oscarsson has joined Damallsvenskan side AIK.
Joining in January 2023, the popular 27-year-old made a total of 49 appearances for the club and played a pivotal role in our Scottish Women's Premier League title win in 2022/2023 following her move.
“It has been a privilege to play for Glasgow City," said Oscarsson. "Every game I have felt proud to represent a club that has such a high standards both on and off the pitch, a club where every single person strives to get better every day and a club with values that are in line with my own.
“From the day I joined Glasgow City, I felt so welcomed by everyone in and around the club and quickly felt that I had found a home away from home. The togetherness in this team really is something unique and something I’ll always be grateful for being a part of. I’ve found friends for life and I feel like I leave the club both as a better football player and a better person.
“Thank you for all the memories, I’ll cherish them forever."
Capped five times by Sweden, Oscarsson scored her first goal for the club on the opening day of the 2023/2024 season in a 3-0 win over Hibernian at Petershill. A regular feature throughout the campaign, the Swedish full-back also played for Glasgow City in the UEFA Women's Champions League.
"Arriving at City as one of my first permanent signings as Head Coach back in January 2023, Anna has gone on to deliver on every expectation I had of her both on and off the pitch," said head coach Leanne Ross.
"Her experience, professionalism and ability on the pitch played a huge role in our title win last season, whilst her positive, caring and considerate personality have been a key asset to the team environment.
"I would like to thank Anna for everything she has contributed during her time at the club and wish her every success and happiness for the next step in her personal and professional life."
