City come from behind to take all three points at Aberdeen

Aberdeen 2
Thomson 45+4
Stewart 47

Glasgow City 3
Lovera 24, 51
Kozak 52

Glasgow City would stage a lighting quick second half comeback to take all three points with a 3-2 win at Aberdeen this afternoon.

Brenna Lovera (24, 51) and Kinga Kozak (52) were enough to cancel out strikes from Eva Thomson (45+4) and Hannah Stewart (47).

Hayley Lauder returned to captain the side after injury, while Kinga Kozak also returned to the starting XI on her 21st birthday.

And it was Lauder tested the goalkeeper in the opening minute of the game as City took the game straight to their hosts.

A fantastic run from Kozak after quarter of an hour saw her burst into the box and arrow a shot inches wide as City began to pile on pressure early doors.

City pressure would pay on 24 minutes when defence was turned into attack in an instant, Lovera controlled superbly and then fired a great drive into the Aberdeen net to open the scoring.

Leanne Ross' team would go within the width of a post from doubling their lead just before half time when Kozak almost grabbed a birthday goal from range - only for the bar to save Aberdeen.

The host would find themselves back on levels just as the half was coming to a close though as Thomson finished well after breaking through on goal.

And the Dons would take the lead right after half time when former City player Hannah Stewart finished clincally from inside the area.

However, just four minutes later City would be back in the lead after scoring two goals in a minute, firstly Lovera finishing superbly after rounding the 'keeper before Kozak blasted home a wonderful volley inside the area.

Mairead Fulton would then smash a long range effort off the bar while, at the other end, Bayley Hutchison would almost catch out the City defence as she forced Lee Gibson into a close range save.

However, it would be City that would do enough to see out the game and take another three points.
