Glasgow City suffered defeat at Broadwood Stadium.
Lauren Davidson scored City’s goal after a penalty had given Rangers the lead but three second half goals gave the home side victory.
An early free kick tested Jenna Fife in the Rangers goal when Fiona Brown’s effort went through the wall before a Meikayla Moore header went wide after City kept play alive from a corner kick.
The home side threatened themselves in the opening stages with Rachel Rowe’s effort going straight down the throat of Lee Gibson before the City goalkeeper was called in action again to deny a header from Kathryn Hill.
Rangers were awarded a penalty in the 21st minute which, despite Gibson going the right way, found the net from Rio Hardy.
City responded like champions and equalized ten minutes before the break when Lauren Davidson cooly slotted the ball past Fife.
Davidson went close to a second for City at the start of the second half but her effort went just the wrong side of the far post before the home side went in front through a Lizzie Arnot strike from the edge of the box.
The home side secured the points in the closing stages with Chelsea Cornet scoring from a Rangers corner before Mia McAulay scored with two minutes left on the clock.
City are next in action when we welcome Partick Thistle to Petershill Park on Wednesday night.
