Glasgow City 0
Sheffield United 0
Glasgow City continued their pre-season schedule with an entertaining 0-0 draw against English Championship side Sheffield United at Petershill Park.
Summer signing Cori Sullivan made her first start for the club, while Lee Gibson returned in goal as Leanne Ross' side continued preparations for the season.
An exciting start to the game saw the Scotland number one called into action almost immediately when she made an excellent save to deny Bex Rayner for the away side.
City could have taken the lead just after the 10 minute mark when Emily Whelan was fouled in the area but Lauren Davidson was unlucky to see her penalty bounce back off the post.
The Blades would then see an effort crash off the underside of the bar, while Davidson skimmed the post with a long range drive.
Whelan would go close for the home side early in the second period with a clever turn and shot in the area but Fran Stenson was equal to it.
Amy Muir would then test the 'keeper with a fine long range drive and Davidson would sting the fingers of Stenson with a fierce free kick, while Erin Clachers had to be alert to thwart Trialist on the break.
A long range drive from Aoife Colvill which clipped the bar almost won it for City with just five minutes left.
In the end though, neither side could find the winner in an entertaining game at Petershill.
