Glasgow City made it three wins on the bounce as goals from Natalia Wróbel and Nicole Kozlova secured a 2-0 victory over Spartans at Ainslie Park.
Lisa Evans, Kimberley Smit, Emily Whelan and Katie Lockwood all returned to the starting line up while there was a first City start for Amy Anderson in midfield and a debut for 18-year-old goalkeeper Ava Easdon.
It would be a game that City would dominate in possession but would see chances hard to come by against a stuffy Spartans side still looking for their first points of the season.
The breakthrough came with half an hour gone when Natalia Wróbel tucked home on the angle to make it two goals in two games for the Polish international after Katie Lockwood and Sofia Määttä had missed earlier opportunities to put the visitors in front.
Despite the goal it would be a disjointed first half performance as City began the second period looking to rediscover their rhythm. Early chances for Lisa Forrest and Määttä came close to doubling the advantage but it was the introduction of fresh legs that helped to break the stubborn hosts down once again.
Nicole Kozlova and Aleigh Gambone both added fresh impetus but it was the introduction, for the first time in 287 days, of Brenna Lovera that received the biggest cheer of the day, making her return to action after a nine and a half month injury layoff.
The American striker's first goal of the season wouldn't come but a second for City did with Kozlova securing victory from close range as debutant keeper Easdon marked her first appearance in a Glasgow City jersey with a clean sheet.
Next up is the visit of Queen's Park to K Park this coming Sunday.
