CITY WELCOME BACK FAMILIAR FACE TO LEANNE ROSS’ COACHING TEAM

Glasgow City are delighted to welcome Scott Booth back to Petershill Park as he joins Leanne Ross’ staff as First Team Assistant Coach.

After a playing career that saw Scott represent his country and clubs across the continent he first arrived at Glasgow City in 2015, taking over the manager's role from Eddie Wolecki Black. Continuing the club’s success he would win six consecutive SWPL titles along with two Scottish Cup’s in 2015 and 2019.

Scott returns to Scotland after spells coaching in the top two tiers of the English game. First with Birmingham City in the Women’s Super League and latterly in the Championship with Lewes.

His experience within the women’s game will be a significant asset for the club as our preparations ahead of the new season continue.

“From the vast amount of applications we received Scott was the best person for the job.”

“We know each other really well. We have respect for one another and I feel he is somebody that will come in and not just challenge me but also support me in making the decisions needed as we look to compete for trophies over the course of the season.”

“He is somebody that has immense experience in the women’s game and, importantly, he is also somebody who knows this club really well and I’m excited to be working with him again.”

“Football’s got a funny way of doing something that you don’t really expect.”

“The opportunity to come back home, to be closer to my family and be part of a club that I have always loved is something I am grateful for as you don’t always get that opportunity to return to a place where you have had so many amazing memories.”

“When I was at Glasgow City previously I was supported by a lot of really good people and Leanne was one of them. We've always got on, had honesty within our relationship and I trust her experience and knowledge. It’s new but it doesn’t feel different. I appreciate the opportunity she, and the club, have given me and I know we will work well together.”

“The club are consistently trying to push themselves forward and I look forward to being part of a team striving for success this season.”
