Glasgow City are thrilled to announce the arrival of striker Brenna Lovera from NWSL side Chicago Red Stars.
A Golden Boot winner with Icelandic top tier side Selfoss in 2022, the 26-year-old scored an impressive 21 goals in 34 games and has also enjoyed spells in Portugal and America.
On signing for City, Lovera said: “I’m excited to join Glasgow City and meet all my new teammates. I want to bring value to this team and contribute to the winning culture here".
The Michigan born forward started her career with US College side Northwestern University in 2015 before moving abroad to play professionally for IBV in the Besta deild kvenna, where she netted six goals in nine games for IBV before catching the attention of Boavista in Portugal prior to her move to Selfoss.
Most recently with Chicago Red Stars, Lovera becomes our fourth signing of the summer and takes City's number nine jersey ahead of the new campaign.
"We are all excited to welcome Brenna to Glasgow City as our latest summer recruit" said head coach Leanne Ross.
"Brenna arrives with an impressive goal scoring record which includes a Golden Boot winning season at Icelandic club Selfoss. As a team who play a fast, attacking style of football and create a high number of chances in games, we feel Brenna will fit in perfectly here and make a huge impact for us at the top end of the pitch.
"Playing in the centre forward position, Brenna has the strength and close control required to play as a target style player whilst also having the pace, power, and technical skills to be a forward who can run in behind or win 1v1 duels to create and score goals.
"As a proven goal scorer and exciting attacking player, Brenna has all the ability and promise to quickly become a Glasgow City fans’ favourite" added Ross.
