Hibernian 0
Glasgow City 1
Davidson 13
One goal was enough for Glasgow City to claim all three points at Meadowbank Stadium.
Lauren Davidson scored the only goal of the game after 13 minutes.
Following the Petershill Park derby victory in midweek, Leanne Ross made four changes with Hayley Lauder, Lauren Davidson, Kenzie Weir and Anna Oscarsson all returning to the starting 11.
The first effort on goal brought the only goal of the game. Amy Muir created some space on the left wing to swing in a cross to the back post that found Lauren Davidson, who’s header was too powerful for Katlynn Fraine who couldn’t keep the ball out of the net.
Hibernian responded well and would have been level if it was not for a terrific save from Lee Gibson after Naomi Powell’s free kick was glanced on at the front post by Joelle Murray.
It was a game that was played largely in midfield with neither team able to control with both having chances at the start of the second half.
The home side headed a corner wide while Emily Whelan was denied by Fraine from close range.
City had the chance to seal the points in the closing stages but Fraine denied Davidson her second and saved again from the City goalscorer when the ball wasn’t cleared and came back to the City number 14.
Hibs had a couple of chances late on to snatch a point but Poppy Lawson’s header went wide before Michaela McAlonie’s strike flew over Gibson’s crossbar.
City are next in action when we travel to Airdrie to face Celtic on Wednesday 1st of May.
