Dundee United 0-13 Glasgow City - Match Summary

Glasgow City head into the international break top of the Scottish Women's Premier League thanks to a dominant 13-0 victory over Dundee United at a wind wrapped Foundation Park.

Ava Easdon, Chloe Warrington and Natalia Wróbel all came into the starting line up as we looked to continue our unbeaten run against opposition looking for their first win of the season.

The tone of the game was set early as with just three minutes on the clock Dundee United goalkeeper Beth Rennie was shown a straight red card after handling outside the area, moments after she had clattered Brenna Lovera when through on the goal.

Beth Mowatt would replace Rennie but she would be picking the ball out the net moments later as Lisa Evans got her first Glasgow City goal since her return to the club; nestling the resultant free-kick low into the bottom corner.

From their the floodgates would open as Lovera smashed home her first of the season before Wróbel finished off a superb back-to-front team move from the edge of the area to make it 3-0 with just twelve minutes played.

Lovera and then a nimble-footed Aleigh Gambone would score two goals inside two minutes before Emily Whelan continued her great run of form to add a sixth, before supplying the cross for fellow winger Sofia Määttä to take the tally to seven before half-time.

Claire Walsh, Hayley Lauder and Lisa Forrest all came on after the interval as the weather turned decidedly autumnal.

Whelan blasted home an eighth to continue the scoring and then substitute Katie Lockwood scored her first Glasgow City goal, sliding home after good work from Lovera released the midfielder.

Whelan would complete her hat-trick to make it ten before substitutes Lisa Forrest and a double from Nicole Kozlova completed the scoring.

Other results mean that City go into the international break top of the table with the league season set to recommence at the start of November with the Petershill derby against Partick Thistle.
