Glasgow City 1
Sophia Martin (75)
Durham FC 2
Amy Andrews (26, 37)
Glasgow City's pre-season programme would begin with a narrow 2-1 defeat at home to English Championship side Durham at a sunny Petershill Park.
Two first half strikes from Amy Andrews (26, 37) were enough to secure the win for the English outfit, while Sophia Martin (75) was on target for City.
Glasgow City fans were treated to glimpses of new signings Kenzie Weir, Cori Sullivan and Aleigh Gambone for the first time as Leanne Ross in a game that saw plenty chances for both sides in the first period.
Emily Whelan went close for the home side when she met Hayley Lauder's right wing free-kick but Naoisha McAloon saved well, while Andrews and Dee Bradley went close for Durham.
It would be Andrews would open the scoring for the away side just after 25 minutes though when she finished from the edge of area and her second would come from a great finish after a clever Durham break away.
Erin Clachers would a fine save as the game got back underway as Andrews threatened once more but it would the home side who had the better of a tight second half as they pushed to get back into the game.
City pressure would tell near the end as a great run from Lauren Davidson saw Martin tap home from close range to half the deficit before debutant Aimee Murray would be denied by the post in the final minute.
