We returned to the top of the Scottish Women's Premier League table with a hardworking 4-0 victory over an always well-organised Motherwell at Petershill Park.
There was a first start of 2025 for Amy Anderson while Linda Motlhalo made her return to a Glasgow City matchday squad for the first time since her return from Racing Louisville.
The first half would be a sticky affair as the home side dominated the ball for long spells but we struggled to break down the Motherwell rearguard.
In a half of few chances the deadlock was finally broken with 42 minutes on the clock as Emily Whelan's tricky wing play produced a cross ball for Brenna Lovera to smash home from close range as the American striker hared in from the opposing wing.
The second half started in similar fashion, with City dominating, as both Kimberley Smit and Whelan were denied by the crossbar and Emily Mutch in the Motherwell goal respectively.
Although the visitors nearly grabbed an equaliser as Lee Gibson did well to stretch and get her finger tips onto Jenna Penman's header.
Lisa Forrest and Natalia Wróbel entered the game as we searched for a second, and both would make an impact.
First, Scotland U19 international Forrest would get on the end of a Lovera cutback after a nimble footed interchange between the American and Emily Whelan on the Motherwell byline to double our lead before Wróbel had her say.
Moments after the Polish international had slalomed the length of the Peasy pitch only to pull her effort just wide she would add a third for City; getting on the end of a Samantha van Diemen cut back on the edge of the area to pass the ball home before adding her second, and our fourth in the closing stages.
The scoreline was a fair reward for an imposing second half display, one topped off with the return of Linda Motlhalo to competitive action in City colours during the closing stages.
Next up, we travel east to face Hearts in a Scottish Cup Quarter Final at Oriam.
See you there!
