League leaders Glasgow City started 2025 with victory as doubles from Nicole Kozlova and Brenna Lovera led the home side to a 6-1 Scottish Women's Premier League win over tenth-placed Aberdeen at Petershill Park.
Chloe Warrington, Amy Anderson and Lisa Forrest all came out of the side that defeated Dundee United 7-0 prior to the end of year break with Lisa Evans, Hayley Lauder and Aleigh Gambone coming into the starting line up.
The game would be over as a contest with fifteen minutes on the clock as City made an electrifying start scoring four without reply in the first quarter of an hour.
Kozlova would open the scoring with six minutes on the clock, latching onto a through ball from Samantha van Diemen before coolly lobbing Megan Sidey in the visitor's goal.
The Ukrainian striker would get her second four minutes later, tucking home from close range after superb set up play from Katie Lockwood broke the Aberdeen backline.
Soon it was three as Lisa Evans provided the square the ball for Lovera to smash into the roof of the net before Natalia Wróbel profited after good work from Gambone.
It was an opening blitz that left the visitors reeling who, to their credit managed to stem the tide; a superb low save from Sidey denying Lisa Evans from the edge of the area before half time.
A fifth goal would come in the second half though as substitute Lisa Forrest broke through to calmly net from the angle of the box before a Lovera header from close range made it six.
Aberdeen scored a late consolation through Nicola Jamieson but the home side's early flurry ensured it was a winning start to 2025 for The Original Trailblazers.
