Glasgow City announce departure of Jenna Clark

Jenna Clark will leave Glasgow City to join Women’s Super League side Liverpool following the expiry of her contract.

The 21 year old made 143 appearances for the club after making her debut off the bench against Celtic back in 2018.

During her time at the club, Clark became one of the first names on the team sheet and won four SWPL titles along with a Scottish Cup triumph in 2019.

Clark played 18 times in the UEFA Women’s Champions League including in the famous Round of 16 victory over Brondby and in the Quarter Final against VfL Wolfsburg.

Despite being a centre back, Clark had an eye for goal scoring 30 goals during her five years. Last season she scored 13 times including a hat-trick against Glasgow Women in the Sky Sports Cup Quarter Final.

Jenna Clark said on her time at the club:

“A club i’ll never forget.

“For the past 5 years this has been my home, a place where i’ve felt safe and accepted. I came here as a young 16-year-old and I wouldn’t be the player or person I am today without all those involved at the club.

“To all the players, staff and fans that i’ve been lucky enough to work alongside over the past 5 years, thank you! Thank you for the memories, thank you for the support, and most of all thank you for taking me in as one of your own.

“I wish nothing but the best for this club and all those involved!

Leanne Ross on Jenna Clark’s Glasgow City career:

“Jenna arrived at Glasgow City a young, raw talent many people had high aspirations for, she leaves having smashed everyone’s expectations. It has been my pleasure firstly to play alongside her and now to have coached her, hopefully having played a small part in her development into one of Scotland’s top centre backs.

“Jenna has played a huge part in the success we have achieved at this club, developing and maturing into a true Glasgow City leader along the way. She will be a huge loss but we all wish her every success in the next chapter of her career.”

Everyone at Glasgow City Football Club wishes Jenna success in the future.
