Glasgow City Secure Double SWIS Award Nominations

Glasgow City Secure Double SWIS Award Nominations

We’re proud to share that we have been twice shortlisted in the final three at the 2025 Scottish Women in Sport Awards.

Two nominations that say who we are, and what we stand for.

In the ALT Most Valuable Partnership category we have been nominated for our ''Well-behaved Women Seldom Make History'' Kit Launch campaign with Foudys for our use of creativity and innovation in cultivating growth.

Two independent, women-led organisations, with a very clear vision for the women’s game coming together. With Foudys, we launched our home shirt differently, and deliberately. A ten-day secret drop with no badge or name. A record130 shirts sold to 15 countries across the globe before a single person knew the club behind it.

No paid ads, just purpose, curiosity, community and the power of women-led leadership.

Shot in the Glasgow Women’s Library, revealed at the Regent Street located Style of Our Own London and with brilliant women-led brands snd founding members of The City Collective, in Dear Green Coffee Roasters, Strong Like a Mutha and The Travel Company Edinburgh, by our side.

A feminist campaign powered by belief in something bigger; visibility, voice, culture, and the future of women’s football.

In the UWS Community Champion Award the Glasgow City Foundation has picked up a nomination for our work championing women and girls in football.

Our Foundation exists so that every woman and girl who wants to play football, can.

In the last year alone:
  • Our Junior Academy nearly doubled, 66 players and 138 girls training weekly.
  • Wee delivered 204 free coaching hours delivered in 12 Glasgow schools.
  • 1,000+ free tickets for schools and community groups.
  • Free sports psychology sessions for other clubs - because rising tides should lift all boats.
  • 120 holiday camp places funded, removing financial barriers.
  • Five full bursaries for families who needed support.
This is football as a force for confidence, community and equality, not just for our club, but for our communities.

As a club we are delighted to receive this recognition for what we do alongside, clubs and individuals as passionate as we are about growing the eco-system for women in sport.

To everyone who backs us, plays for us, works beside us, and believes in independent women’s football, thank you. And to every girl finding her place in the game, we see you, we’re rooting for you, and we’re building this for you.

The 12th Annual Scottish Women in Sport Awards take place on Friday 21st November.

A night that looks to recognise and celebrate, not only the success of our elite athletes and para-athletes, but those working as volunteers, clubs in the community, pioneers, and so many other roles that impact on women in sport.
