Glasgow City v Celtic - SWPL Match Preview

It is a Friday night under the lights as we host Celtic in Scottish Women's Premier League action.

Last Time Out

It was a pair of 8-0 wins in league action as the two sides remained level on points at the top of the table.

We secured victory over Montrose at Petershill Park as goals from Samantha van Diemen, Nicole Kozlova, Brenna Lovera, Jo Love and Kimberley Smit; along with a rare hat-trick of own goals secured victory for Leanne and the team.

Meanwhile, on Friday night, Celtic were 8-0 winners away to Dundee United. An Abi Harrison hat-trick, doubles from Jennifer Smith and Maria McAneny and a Kit Loferski goal saw Elena Sadiku's side win at Tannadice.

Glasgow City 3-2 Celtic - Scottish Cup Fourth Round - Sunday 2nd February 2025

The two sides met as recently as two weekend's ago in a barnstorming Scottish Cup encounter at Petershill Park. Lucy Ashworth-Clifford opened the scoring before a Brenna Lovera penalty levelled the scores.

A Claire Walsh own goal restored the visitors lead but second half goals from Samantha van Diemen and Lovera secured a comeback victory.

Adult – £10 Concession – £6 Under 16s – £2.

Family tickets for two adults accompanying up to four children are also available for £20.

200 matchday leaflets will be distributed free of charge on Friday including photos, squad lists, Leanne Ross' welcome and the thoughts from Amy Muir ahead of the game.

Matchday Activities

Matchday face painting and sign making will be available at the far end of the main stand.

Our flagbearers will be provided by league sponsors Scottish Power and both teams will be played onto the pitch by the Scottish Power Pipe Band.

We will also be spreading a little bit of love this Valentine's Day as we distribute 100 orange roses to supporters.
