It is a quick turnaround for Leanne Ross and her side following their exertions in our 4-0 win against Motherwell on Sunday afternoon as we host Rangers at Petershill Park for some midweek action.
Last time out
City last featured in the league at the weekend, beating Motherwell 4-0 at home. The comfortable victory sent us to the top of the table with 60 points.
In difficult conditions, with rain and hail playing a part during the first half, we had control throughout. That dominance was rewarded with the opening goal in the 27th minute, with Brenna Lovera heading home.
It was 2-0 after 35 minutes with the American forward bagging her brace with a curling strike and our third arrived only a minute later when Katie Lockwood got in on the goalscoring action.
With one player having already bagged a brace, it was Katie's turn to score her second of the day in the dying minutes. She netted goal number four in the 90th minute, firing the ball into the back of the net from Amy Muir's cutback pass.
Previous meeting
The last meeting between the two sides took place in mid-December at Petershill Park. It was a day to remember for midfielder Natalia Wrobel who netted a first career hat-trick in our 3-0 win.
Her first goal arrived in the 41st minute when she was the first to react when Rangers goalkeeper Jenna Fife was unable to clear her lines and Wrobel lifted the ball into the back of the net.
Two more goals in the second half saw the Polish international net in the 56th and 65th minute, with two similar finishes from inside the box after the ball worked it its way into the area from the flanks.
