We kicked off Scottish Women and Girls in Sports Week with a very special first team visit to Springburn based Elmvale Primary School.
First team players Yana Kotyk, Ruby Seaby, Amy Anderson, Leah Lane, Kelly Brady, Jesi Rossman, Sofia Määttä, Tia Primmer, Yuuka Kurosaki, Emily Gray and Lisa Evans all took the time to share a little bit of their stories, take photos with the Sky Sports Cup and answer questions from the pupils in attendance.
As part of the visit the squad also distributed free tickets to our upcoming home games and were joined by local MSP and Cabinet Minister for Public Reform Ivan McKee.
Glasgow City Foundation Academy Manager Sarah Crilly, who facilitated the visit through the clubs links with local Active Schools programmes was delighted to children the opportunity to not only meet the players of today but to provide them with the opportunity to experience a matchday at The Peasy for themselves.
''As a club that puts women and girls at the heart of everything we do, visits like this are important in giving the next generation visible role models to follow. Having worked with schools across Glasgow to provide free coaching sessions this is the latest initiative we have carried out as we continue to build a bright future for the next generation.''
Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week runs from Monday 2nd November - Sunday 8th November.
Led by Active Scotland, the initiative aims to boost female visibility, participation, and leadership across all levels of sport and physical activity throughout Scotland and this year celebrates its tenth year.
