Glasgow City are delighted to announce the signing of Wilma Forsblom, who joins the club from Finnish treble winners KuPS.
The exciting midfielder featured 23 times last year, scoring ten goals in an extremely successful campaign.
The twenty-year-old has had four seasons of top flight experience in Finland, with her senior career starting at PK-35 Vantaa in 2020 and already she already has amassed 85 appearances in club football and has scored 40 goals.
Forsblom has also been a key figure at all Finnish international youth levels - playing at U17s, U19s and U23s level.
Arriving in Glasgow, Wilma Forsblom said:
"I’m very excited to join the club. Everyone has been so welcoming on my arrival! The team have a history of winning and I look forward to hopefully helping to contribute to this."
Head Coach Leanne Ross on the signing:
“Wilma arrives at Glasgow City having gained great experience from her time in the Kansallinen Liga and having represented Finland at U19 and U23 age groups. At both club and international level, she has proven her capability to perform consistently to a high standard and impact games with her ability to create and score goals from midfield.
“Wilma’s athleticism, game intelligence and technical ability fit perfectly with the style of football we want to play here at Glasgow City and for that reason we are excited to welcome her to the club. As well as adding creativity and a goal scoring threat to our midfield, Wilma’s versatility and experience will be of huge benefit to us at this stage of the season.
“I very much look forward to working with Wilma and can’t wait to see the positive impact she can have during her time at the club.”
Forsblom has signed a two-and-a-half year deal until the summer of 2026 and will wear the number 12 jersey. She goes straight into contention for the squad for tomorrow’s game v Celtic.
