Glasgow City are delighted to announce their latest club partnership, having signed a memorandum of understanding with Icelandic side Haukar.
The agreement will see both clubs work together on and off the pitch in player and coach development, with a unique opportunity for player pathways.
“Commenting on the agreement, Glasgow City Chief Executive Laura Montgomery said, “We are delighted to announce our latest club partnership. Haukar are a club with a great tradition of developing top young talent and most importantly have similar values to ourselves in their approach to opportunities for girls and women.
“The club’s most famous export of course is Champions League winner, Sara Björk of Lyon who was at Haukar from the age of 6 to 18 years old, which alone speaks volumes of their history and success in young player development.
“Our partnership represents another exciting development for our club, having announced a few months ago our partnership with Maltese side Swieqi United. A special thanks goes to Alberto Larrea for his assistance in making this agreement with Haukar happen.”
