Glasgow City will play in the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the 15th consecutive season following today’s 2-0 victory over Hearts confirmed a top two finish in the Scottish Women’s Premier League.

With three games remaining, City have an 11 point gap to third place Celtic.

The 2022/23 campaign will be City’s 16th in Europe with the next match being the club’s 70th in the competition.

Glasgow City first played in Europe back in 2005 when the club played Athletic Club Femenino with a first of 32 victories in the competition coming a couple of years later against Serbian side ZFK Masinac PZP Nis.

Glasgow City Chief Executive Laura Montgomery:

“I don't think it can be underestimated what an achievement this is, to qualify for the Champions League for 15 consecutive years. So many incredible players have bought into our values, our will to win, most often against the financial odds in front of us. This is a moment of celebration for every single Glasgow City player and member of our backroom staff over a long long time.”

The draw for the First Qualifying Round will be held in June with the format the same as this season’s with teams being placed into groups of four with two Semi Finals and a Final for a place in the Second Qualifying Round.

The Semi Final will take place on the 18th of August with the Final or 3rd Place Play-off three days later.
