Hayley Lauder Signs One-Year Contract Extension

Hayley Lauder Signs One-Year Contract Extension

We are delighted to announce long-serving midfielder Hayley Lauder has penned a one-year contract extension until the summer of 2026.

The 106-capped Scotland international - who is approaching 250 appearances for City - first signed for us in 2014 when she became the first Scottish player to sign a professional contract in their home country.

Over the last decade, our No.4 has been a pivotal player and leader in our squad both on and off the pitch.

She has helped City win seven Scottish Women’s Premier League titles, two Scottish Cups and one League Cup, and was also part of the squad who reached the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

On the international stage, Lauder has represented Scotland over 100 times and featured at both the 2017 European Championships and the 2019 FIFA World Cup.

Upon signing her new deal, the 34-year-old said: “It feels really good. I’ve been here for a long time now. I’ve seen the club's progression, and I’m delighted to extend my stay.

“As an individual and as a player, I still have that drive. I’ve shown this season that I can still contribute to the team, and it is something that I love being part of. Ultimately, I still want to have more success and City is the place that matches my ambition.”

Head coach Leanne Ross is pleased to see Lauder extend her stay with the club, as she said: Hayley has been an important player for Glasgow City for a number of years now and we are all thrilled that will continue.

“She is a model professional and someone who I know every player in the squad looks up to and respects. She drives standards in the way she acts off the pitch and the way she plays on it.

“I’m delighted Hayley will remain at Glasgow City and will carry on helping the club achieve its goals, like she has done during her time with us so far.”
