How Did City's Players Fare On International Duty?

With the first international window of the 2025/26 season now concluded, let's take a look at how our players fared whilst representing our club with their respective countries.

City had 10 players on international duty over the last 10 days, with most in friendly action across Europe. Linda Motlhalo was the only player to play competitive fixtures, as her South Africa side featured in Women's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Our internationals will be back in club action this weekend, as we host Aberdeen in the ScottishPower Women's Premier League. Get your tickets for the visit of the Dons on Fanbase!

Scotland - Lee Gibson and Amy Muir

Our co-captains made two starts from two with Scotland as they defeated Morocco 2-1 in Casablanca last week, in what was Melissa Andreatta's maiden win of her tenure, and narrowly lost 4-3 to Switzerland in Dunfermline on Tuesday night.

Goalkeeper Lee played 90 minutes across both matches, with Amy playing 83 and 62 minutes in defence across the respective matches.

Slovenia - Lana Golob

Representing Glasgow City for the first time on international duty, defender Lana started for Slovenia in a friendly defeat against Serbia.

Lana's side were 2-1 up at half-time, before the visitors scored three more in the second half to claim a comeback victory.

Ukraine - Nicole Kozlova

Nic also made back-to-back starts for her country, as she featured in both of Ukraine's friendlies against Slovakia and Romania.

She opened the scoring against Slovakia as Ukraine went on to claim a 2-1 win, with our No.19 playing 80 minutes. She featured for 89 minutes on Tuesday afternoon, as her country drew 1-1 with Romania.

South Africa - Linda Motlhalo

Linda was the only player in competitive action during this window, as Banyana Banyana faced the DR Congo in a WAFCON Qualifier double-header.

Our No.20 started on the bench in the away fixture, which finished 1-1, before in Johannesburg, Linda started in midfield as South Africa claimed a 1-0 win thanks to a stoppage time goal, securing their place at next summer's tournament in Morocco.

Finland Under-23s - Sofia Määttä

Representing Finland's young team, Sofia Määttä came off the bench in friendlies against Denmark and Mexico.

She played the last half-an-hour in a 3-1 defeat to Denmark last week, and was a half-time substitute in a 1-1 draw against Mexico on Tuesday afternoon.

Scotland Under-23s - Erin Clachers and Lisa Forrest

There were consecutive starts for goalkeeper Erin Clachers and forward Lisa Forrest, as they featured twice for Scotland Under-23s in European Friendly Tournament games against Sweden and Italy.

A 3-0 defeat to Sweden at Stark's Park proceeded an impressive 3-1 win against Italy in Florence on Monday afternoon.

Scotland Under-19s - Sophia Martin and Cara Gray

Loanees Sophia Martin, who is spending the season at Montrose, and Cara Gray, who is with Kilmarnock in SWPL 2, were away with Scotland's U19s for a double-header against Slovakia.

Sophia started both matches, which ended in a 1-1 draw before a 2-1 defeat, while Cara was an unused substitute.
