Love, undoubtedly a Scottish women’s football legend, joined the club in 2011 and is the second highest appearance maker in the club’s history having played 272 times for City, scoring 96 goals.

During her time at the club, Love has won 11 SWPL titles along with numerous Scottish and SWPL Cups and featured both times City have reached the quarter finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Love is also the highest capped outfield player for Scotland with 191 caps.

Commenting on her new deal, Love said:

“I’m delighted to be offered my 13th season at Glasgow City. I’d like to thank the club (and my additional employment at Glasgow Scientific Services) for their continued trust in me and allowing this opportunity to play for another season. The support the club have shown, particularly throughout my injury over the past months, has been amazing and I look forward to repaying this back on the pitch. Can’t wait to see you all next season #OCAC”.

Head Coach Leanne Ross said:

“Everyone at the club is delighted with the news of Jo’s contract extension. Jo is a born winner and has contributed massively to the success this club has achieved over the years.

“As our captain, Jo is a fantastic role model and leader on and off the pitch. She pushes herself to be the best she can be every day and demands the same from everyone at the club. Her experience and leadership will be vital to us as we begin the defence of the SWPL title and a new Champions League campaign”.
