We can today confirm that midfielder Katie Lockwood has departed Glasgow City to join Women’s Super League 2 side Charlton Athletic.
During her 18-month spell with us, having joined the club last summer, Katie made 51 appearances and scored 12 goals – including a brace in last season’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Motherwell at Hampden.
She helped the club achieve a top-two finish last season, and with it European football for this campaign, where she featured six times across the UEFA Champions League and Europa Cup.
Katie arrived at City with an impressive record from her time playing college football in the United States, in Cyprus and in Sweden before her arrival from fellow Scottish Women's Premier League side Hearts last summer.
Upon departing City, Katie had the following message that she wanted to share: “The biggest thank you to the amazing City fans and for all your support throughout my time at the club! I’ve heard you rain or shine, you always show up and your support doesn’t go unrecognised.
