Kimberley Smit departs Glasgow City

We can confirm that, following the expiration of her contract, Kimberley Smit has departed Glasgow City after two seasons.

The Dutch defender signed from Excelsior Rotterdam in the summer of 2024 and went on to make 75 appearances for the club across competitions, scoring five goals and leaving the club with a Sky Sports Cup winners medal.

Kim had the following messages to share with supporters:

Thank you, Glasgow City.

After two incredible years, it's time for me to say goodbye. I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone at the club who made my time here so special - my teammates, coaches, staff, and everyone behind the scenes.

A special thank you to the fans for your incredible support throughout my time at the club. Your support through every high and low of the season never went unnoticed, and I'm so grateful for the encouragement you always gave us.

I'm so grateful for the memories, friendships, and experiences I've had, and I'll always be proud to have been part of such a special club.

Thank you for everything 🧡

Everyone at Glasgow City wishes Kim all of the best on her next adventure, and there will always be a place to call home at The Peasy.

Once City. Always City.
