We can confirm that we have agreed to the departure of Leanne Crichton as she takes up a new opportunity with Scottish Women's Premier League side Rangers.
Having received an approach, we have completed negotiations that will allow Leanne to pursue this new opportunity with Glasgow City receiving compensation as part of the move.
She returned to the club in December of last year, replacing outgoing Assistant Coach Scott Booth as part of Leanne Ross' backroom staff and was part of the coaching team that helped us return to the UEFA Champions League.
As a player she initially joined Glasgow City in 2007 before having spells at Celtic and Hibernian.
In her second stint with City between 2012-14, she played a key part in the first three of four domestic trebles in a row and is one of a small handful of players to have reached the UWCL Quarter-Finals twice for the side. She also spent time in England with then top-flight side, Notts County, before returning for a third and final spell as a player.
A move to join Motherwell as part of Paul Brownlie's coaching staff followed before her return to Petershill Park last term.
Speaking on her departure, Leanne had the following message to share.
''It's been a step that I think a lot of people might have thought I was heading in but I don't think I had made that decision yet in terms of when.
''But that's football, you can think you have a plan in your head and then in a couple of days everything changes. It's an exciting opportunity.
''Making the decision wasn't an easy one. It is one that has brought the most emotion I have ever felt in football. I love the people and I love the environment, especially working with Leanne and that made it one of the toughest decision I've had to make.
''I think anyone who follows the club, and has done for so a long time knows what this club means to me, and the significance of this decision.
''I look forward to seeing everyone when I'm back over the course of the season.''
Leanne may no longer be taking her place in the home dugout but she, and her family, will always be welcome at The Peasy.
An Original Trailblazer both on and off the pitch; Once City, Always City.
We can confirm that the club have moved quickly to bolster Leanne Ross' team and news on the latest addition to the Glasgow City coaching staff will be announced shortly.
