Leanne Ross: Let's Finish Strong - See you at the Peasy!

As we approach our final Scottish Women’s Premier League match of the season, head coach Leanne Ross has reflected on the campaign and the task ahead.

We host Hearts at Petershill Park this Sunday, with kick-off set for 12pm. Make sure you get your ticket here and be at the Peasy one last time this term.

"Another whirlwind SWPL season comes to a close on Sunday, and there is no doubt amongst the squad and staff about what our goal is.

We are all disappointed that this campaign won’t end with the league trophy returning to Petershill Park, but that is behind us now. It is hugely important we make sure our focus is getting something to show for all our efforts, and that is ensuring Champions League football and winning the Scottish Cup.

After all the time, energy and resources that go into a full season, to finish without league silverware is tough, but to finish without European football to look forward to would be even tougher.

European football is so exciting for everyone involved. For the fans, players, coaches, and staff... It’s where we want to be as a club.

From nights under the lights at the Peasy, trips to Kazakhstan, and making history by reaching the quarter-finals on two occasions, I have my own great memories of representing City in the Champions League. Now, I want my players to go and experience it all, too.

That is our objective now, and, like you have shown all season, we need your support to help us get over the line.

Your backing helps us more than you probably realise. Whether it is at home or away, you are our 12th player. You give us the energy to keep going through all the highs and lows.

Hopefully, we can give you all some European adventures to look forward to, but to do that, we know nothing less than three points against Hearts will do.

No team in the top six has been easy. Motherwell showed that on Wednesday night. They may be bottom of this group, but are still a very good team who are well coached, they work hard, and each player knows their job.

And we don’t expect anything different from Hearts on Sunday. They still have pride to play for and will want to finish as high as they possibly can with as many points as they can.

But, our focus remains on ourselves. Making sure we play the football we know we can. So many of you have turned out in your numbers, and that is credit to the players who have so often delivered an exciting product to watch on the pitch.

We want to go and do that one last time in the league this season. See you at the Peasy."
