We made it two wins from two in the Scottish Women's Premier League, thanks to a hard fought 1-0 victory over Aberdeen at a blustery Balmoral Stadium.
There were first starts of the season for Amy Muir and :Linda Motlhalo, while the latest addition to The Original Trailblazers, Mebae Tanaka, lined up on the bench.
Aberdeen, managed by former Glasgow City Head Coach Scott Booth, have come into the 2025/26 season with a number of new faces in their squad and it was an afternoon where grit and hard work was required to secure the three points.
We dominated possession early and after an opening half hour where the home defence were resolute, the breakthrough came with 31 minutes on the clock, moments after Lee Gibson had done well to smother a Dons' counter.
A darting Natalia Wróbel run led to a cross ball finding Katie Lockwood on the penalty spot who laid off to Abi Harrison, the Scotland striker coolly finishing to score her first goal for the club since joining in the summer.
Pressure continued to build as the half continued and a Lockwood cross hit the woodwork but the scoreline would remain 1-0 going into the break.
We would continue the game camped in the Aberdeen half as we probed for a second goal with substitutes Emily Whelan, Sofia Määttä and Lisa Forrest all making an impact.
As the game reached it's conclusion the hosts nearly grabbed a point but a fine save from Gibson denied Darcie Miller before a late scramble was cleared from the City goal.
In the end, Harrison's goal would be enough to get the job done. Three points secured and onto our next challenge as we head to Vienna to face Austria Wien in the UWCL 2nd Qualifying Round this coming midweek.
