Partick Thistle v Glasgow City - Scottish Cup Third Round Preview

Glasgow City return to action following the international break as our Scottish Cup journey begins with a third round tie against Partick Thistle in the familiar surroundings of Petershill Park.

Leanne Ross and the squad will be looking to begin the road to a first Scottish Cup trophy win since 2019 against a side they have already faced twice this season in SWPL action.

Last Time Out

City headed into the international break top of the SWPL table as six different scorers secured a 6-0 victory over Spartans.

Meanwhile in Edinburgh, Thistle made it two consecutive 1-1 draws in-a-row away to Hibernian at Meadowbank. Cara Henderson equalizing after Tegan Bowie gave the hosts the lead.

Last Year in the Scottish Cup

It would be a Fourth Round exit on penalties for City in last year's competition. Lauren Davidson and Leah Eddie exchanged goals before a visiting Hibernian side would win 5-4 in the shootout.

Partick Thistle progressed one stage further. A single Lizzie Waldie goal the difference during their quarter-final against Hearts who would eventually progress to the final.

Previous Meeting
