We can confirm that we have agreed the transfer of defender Samantha van Diemen to Serie A side Roma for an undisclosed fee.
The Dutch-born defender, who this summer made her debut for the Dominican Republic, joined The Original Trailblazers following the expiry of her contract at Fortuna Sittard last summer, and with the support of our coaching staff developed into one of the league's most formidable competitors.
Last season, that development was recognised by both her peers and supporters.
Sam was shortlisted for the PFA Scotland SWPL Player of the Year Award and was winner of the Glasgow City Supporters' Player of the Year Award at the club's end of season ceremony.
In total, the 23-year-old made 38 appearances for City, scoring five goals and assisting on a further seven occasions.
