SWPL Match Preview: Glasgow City v Partick Thistle

SWPL Match Preview: Glasgow City v Partick Thistle

City round off another three-game week with a visit of Partick Thistle for The Peasy Derby in the ScottishPower Women's Premier League.

We will be looking to maintain our unbeaten start to the league campaign and extend our advantage at the top of the table, having won six and drawn one of our seven matches thus far.

Last Time Out

City return to league duty off the back of Wednesday night's UEFA Europa Cup Second Qualifying Round first leg against HB Køge in Denmark.

A narrow 2-1 defeat, with Amy Anderson netting our goal, means we have an opportune chance to overturn the tie in next week's return leg at the Peasy. Get your tickets for that match here.

Our last league contest before this Sunday's encounter with the Jags was a midweek trip to Meadowbank Stadium to face reigning league champions Hibernian.

We continued our unbeaten start to the SWPL season as we came from 1-0 down to claim an important point in Edinburgh, with Katie Lockwood netting the equaliser against her former club.

Previous Meeting

We last faced Partick Thistle at Petershill in December of last year when we got our Scottish Cup campaign underway with a 3-1 win. Lisa Evans, Emily Whelan and Natalia Wróbel were on the scoresheet for City.

In the SWPL, we defeated Thistle 3-0 in our most recent league battle. A double from Brenna Lovera and a goal from Wilma Forsblom secured us the three points.
