SWPL Match Preview: Partick Thistle v Glasgow City

SWPL Match Preview: Partick Thistle v Glasgow City

We return to ScottishPower Women's Premier League action for the first time since the winter break this weekend, making the visit to Partick Thistle for a Peasy derby.

After completing the first half of the season undefeated in the league and sitting seven points clear at the top of the standings, Leanne Ross and her side will be aiming to pick up where we left off at the first time of asking in 2026.

Last Time Out

Our first match of the calendar year saw us in Scottish Cup action, as we booked our place in the quarter-finals thanks to a 6-0 win over Queen's Park at the Peasy.

Braces from Lisa Forrest, Emma Brownlie and Natalia Wróbel secured safe passage to the last-eight, where we will face either Armadale Thistle or Stenhousemuir.

We last featured in the SWPL when we defeated Hearts 1-0 at Oriam in our final match of 2025. A fantastic diving header from Nicole Kozlova saw us claim us all three points in Edinburgh.

Previous Meeting

Our last battle with Partick Thistle came back in October when we prevailed with a 2-0 league win at Petershill.

Forrest sent us on our way after only 10 minutes, before Sofia Määtta doubled our advantage inside the final 15 minutes, firing home from a couple yards out after connecting with an Emily Whelan cross.
