City continued their perfect start to the Scottish Women's Premier League campaign with another win, beating Hamilton Academical 1-0 at New Douglas Park.
Natalia Wróbel's first competitive goal this season midway through the first half was enough to secure us all three points, despite us finishing with a player less following Lana Golob's red card early on in the second half.
The win ensures we remain the only team in the Scottish top-flight yet to drop points or to to concede.
Match Action from New Douglas Park
Against Accies, there was a first City appearance in 487 days for Erin Clachers, with the goalkeeper skippering the side as she made her return from injury and having spent last season away on loan with Hibernian.
There was also a first start in City colours for defender Emma Brownlie, with her previous appearances up until now all coming from the substitutes bench.
We went close to an early lead after Emily Whelan did well to get a shot away at the left side of the box, but her strike inside three minutes was blocked off the line by Accies defender Olivia Mcstay.
The next best opportunity fell to Whelan again, yet, this time she was denied by home goalkeeper Erin Halliday, who made a diving stop to push the Ireland international's strike from range round the post.
City continued to dominate and Chloe Warrington looked to grab the lead with a tricky ball in from range which caught the Accies backline out, but her effort dropped just wide of the post.
Our lead did soon arrive and it was another assist for Sofia Määttä, who bagged three assists in midweek, as she cut the ball back to Wróbel in the box, who then made no mistake in slotting it home for 1-0.
A first strike on target for the hosts came in the 28th minute, but a tame shot from Josi Giard did not trouble Clachers in the City goal, as she collected it comfortably.
With less than 10 minutes to go in the first half, City looked to double our advantage and Määttä went so close to getting a goal of her own. She did so well to get a shot away from a tight angle in the box, but the Accies shot-stopper was alert and made the save.
In the dying minutes of the first half, we almost bagged our second, but we were once again denied by good Accies defending as Katie Lockwood saw her strike blocked off the line.
In the second half, Whelan had another good chance to get herself on the scoresheet as she unleashed a powerful strike outside the box, which bounced on the underside of the crossbar but didn't cross the line.
City were reduced to ten players after 53 minutes when Accies looked to hit us against the run of play and Golob was adjudged to have brought down the final attacking player before on the edge of the box.
Even with 10 players, City still looked to extend our lead and Wróbel went close to getting her second of the afternoon when the ball fell to her feet from a corner and she let sail from 18 yards, but her powerful strike was collected by goalkeeper Halliday.
Although it was by a narrow scoreline, City claimed a fourth win from four in a dominant performance against Accies. Up next is a trip to Ireland for more Europa Cup action against Athlone Town.
