City will go into the winter break seven points clear at the top of the ScottishPower Women's Premier League table after a 1-0 win at second-placed Hearts extended our advantage at the summit.
In a well-fought battle, Nicole Kozlova's terrific diving header just before the hour mark at Oriam secured us all three points in our final match of 2025.
Match Action from Oriam
In our final match of 2025, five changes were made from our previous SWPL match, as Lisa Evans, Kimberley Smit, Hayley Lauder, Linda Motlhalo and Sofia Määttä returned to the XI.
City were put under pressure early on when goalkeeper Lee Gibson played a loose pass to Carly Johns, but the City goalkeeper made a good recovery to deny the Hearts forward.
Despite City enjoying decent spells of possession, it was the hosts who would hit the next best chance, as Jessica Husband saw her strike from distance go over the bar.
We threatened from a training-move corner taken by Lauder, before it fell to Evans on the overlap, but the hosts would go on to clear their lines.
Through one-v-one with the goalkeeper after winning it in the final third and driving towards goal, Kozlova couldn't capitalise on the opportunity as Rachael Johnstone smothered the ball at the feet of our forward in the box.
In the second half, our first foray forward saw Määttä flash a pass across goal, which could not find an incoming Kozlova or Natalia Wróbel at the back post.
The home side had a chance of their own, with Johns' strike deflected behind for a corner - which was well dealt with by goalkeeper Gibson, who punched it clear from immediate danger.
And we would soon take the lead, with Evans sending the ball in from the byline following an initial corner, and it was met by the head of Kozlova, guiding it into the back of the net via the inside of the post.
Hearts looked to grab an equaliser inside the final 15 minutes, but brave goalkeeping from Gibson saw her clear the ball away from Georgia Timms, before Sade Adamolekun sent the rebound wide of the target.
A great save from Gibson with five minutes left to go sent a Hearts strike round the post, with the resulting corner coming to nothing.
