A first goal of the season from Wilma Forsblom and a first for the club from Natalia Wróbel saw Glasgow City earn a 2-0 victory over Partick Thistle at the Kirkintilloch Community Sports Complex to end a busy week with back-to-back victories.
Leanne Ross made five changes to the side that started the midweek victory over Hearts with Chloe Warrington, Aleigh Gambone, Wilma Forsblom, Megan Foley and Lisa Forrest all coming into the starting line up to face a Partick Thistle side who secured their first win of the season away to Spartans midweek.
The visitors got off to the perfect start when five minutes in Forsblom put City ahead; picking up a loose ball on the edge of the area after strong running from Nicole Kozlova stretched the Thistle defence with the Finnish midfielder's effort taking a deflection past Jeni Currie to open the scoring.
Megan Foley nearly added a second but her effort at the back post went wide before City did get number two with 35 minutes gone as the constantly dangerous Forrest powered forward before sliding the ball through for Wróbel who dinked the ball home to score her first goal for the club and give City a two goal lead going into the interval.
City would continue to probe for a third in a scrappy second period as Thistle tried to find a way back into the game but it would be City who looked the most likely with Wróbel and Forrest nearly combining once again before substitute Rammie Noel was unlucky not to get her first goal for the club with a pair of efforts as she jinked in from the left hand side.
Late in the game Amy Anderson would come on to make her first appearance for the club since joining from Motherwell this summer as City secured victory with preparations now turning towards a trip down the M8 to face Spartans next week at Ainslie Park.
