Glasgow City are thrilled to announce that clothing retail and women’s empowerment brand GRRRL will be the team’s main partner for the next two seasons.
Founded by CEO Kortney Olson, GRRRL is a brand new type of clothing company, which was established to help change how women see themselves and how the world sees women.
GRRRL celebrates everything female, recognising that women come in all different shapes and packages. They are a brand determined to make a difference, to help create a world where all women are free to be the best versions of themselves.
The partnership will see GRRRL be the main partner on Glasgow City playing and training kit as well as front and central on Glasgow City TV, which hit 1 million views in 2019 alone.
Commenting on the ground breaking agreement, Glasgow City co-founder Laura Montgomery said, “I am absolutely delighted that we are partnering with GRRRL and really excited for the difference we can make together. In our 22 years of existence, our primary purpose has been to champion women and girls. It is what makes us unique, it is what makes us who we are and it is what makes us successful. In our agreement with GRRRL we truly have a partnership which mirrors every single belief that we have and I simply love everything Kortney and her team do. I feel our brands are kindred spirits and I look forward to breaking down as many barriers as we can together to ensure girls and women have the opportunities and freedom to be whoever they want to be. Quite simply our aim is to empower and unite women and girls to champions change together and I cannot wait to get started.“
"We are TOTALLY stoked to be partnering with Laura and her team of badasses at Glasgow FC!" said Kortney, CEO of GRRRL. "Our mission is to change the game for the generation of women who’ll follow us: The teenager who thinks she’s too fat. The 10-year old ‘encouraged’ to take up gymnastics when she really loves football. The baby girl who was born as you read this sentence. We’re making their path smoother. As our path today was made easier by those who fought before us. Generation after generation of badass women who’ve helped us get here today. We're so aligned with what the team are trying to achieve that it's a completely natural fit. And we look forward to knocking down barriers for women and girls together for the next two years and beyond!"
