Keiron McAneny departs as Head of Player Development

Today we can confirm that Keiron McAneny has left his role as Head of Player Development to take up a new opportunity.

A long-time member of the coaching team Keiron has worked with four Head Coaches during his six year spell at the club whilst also having a key role in laying the foundations for the next generation, including roles as Head Coach at U18 and U19 level.

This summer he was appointed the Head of Player Development as the club looked to strengthen it's pathway to Leanne Ross' first team squad.

Speaking on his time at The Original Trailblazers Keiron wanted to share the following message.

''I hope that I am leaving the Academy in a really strong place with the foundations and structure there for the club to reap the benefits in the years to come.

I've been fortunate to experience so many great moments but one of my proudest moment came following our title win in 2023 at Ibrox, as four young players who had progressed through our Academy claimed their medals as members of the first team squad.

There are so many talented individuals at the club and I believe that the Glasgow City Academy will be continue to develop as one of the best in the country.

On what the club has meant to him.

The club has been a huge part of my life. It has given me the opportunity to progress and I feel that I have come on leaps and bounds not only as a coach but also as a person.

I'll be a Glasgow City supporter for the rest of my days.''

Chief Executive Laura Montgomery thanked Keiron for his work at the club.

Everyone at Glasgow City wishes Keiron the very best for the next stage of his career.

A coach and person who shared our vision for the women's game in Scotland, and whose impact will continue to help shape the next generation of talent for the club.

He will always be welcome at Petershill Park.''
